Hello friends.  My name is Tom.  Ham radio is a large part of my life and my callsign is M0RMY.  It's February 2022.  I have just returned from seven months away in a busy job.  So, what better than to get out into Scotland with a ham radio, a tiny tent and a DX Commander Expedition antenna?  We have had three storms and massive winds just this week.  What could possibly go wrong?

Plan is to get up to Scotland and the Isle of Arran on Saturday 26th February and walk the coastal path.  Self-sufficient and with a solar energy source to power my Icom 705 ham radio.

Links to my daily blog updates and other bits and pieces are above

Arran has been described as "Scotland in miniature".  Lovely scenery and ever changing terrain.  Follow my adventure here.  I will try to keep this updated as I go

Final check and pack of gear done today. Weight is 16Kg. Not light - but not as much as it could be. Water will add some more. The radio gear makes up most of the weight of course. Intent is not to go crazy distances each day, enjoy my time and travel easily in no rush.
